Hi Gary,
I am having a problem accessing (hearing) my online voicemail. This problem just began on 1/31/2008. I was wondering if there is a VYL system problem. If not could you offer any suggestions? I was also wondering if VYL was looking into local direct access numbers for voicemail?
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
I am not aware of any system changes that would be causing the problems you are describing. You may want to call into our technical support team and have them open a ticket (888-369-8647).

I frequently get a fast busy signal when I dial 8600 to retrieve voicemail.
Why is that?

Flymike,
That is something our technical support team will need to look at. You may reach them at 888-277-8647. Please keep me posted on the situation though and let me know if there's anything I can assist with.
Thanks,

X-Lite has a VM notification that can be turned on in SPI Acct Settings to notify user of a waiting VM.
It has a place to put in a number to be dialed.
sip:8600@sip.voipyourphone.com
Is there a number that X-Lite could access to turn on the VM indicator thru the Softphone when it registers just like the ATA?
THanks,
Tom

Tom,
In the free version of X-lite I can't find any fields where you can setup the waiting indicator. In the Voicemail tab you have the ability to setup the path to check the voicemail through a button (Kind of like your cell phone checking a voicemail) or setup a specific number you can dial that will send the incoming call directly to voicemail. Could you help me locate the field you need for further assistance?
Thanks,
Allen

THnaks Allen: Actually it suggests that an icon would show in the X-Lite when there was a VM present.
Did I misunderstand that when the box is checked under VM in the sip options that it doesn't check like ATA does?
Can it be set to flash on the X-Lite like the ATA does on the phone when their is a VM waiting?
Tnx,
Tom

Tom,
I have played around with the x-lite settings but I can't find an option to allow a stutter tone or a message waiting indicator either. I do only have the free version, but the only way it can be configured is the envelope on the screen.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Allen

Interesting that there is no stutter tone when you get the dial tone... is that not an automatic event?
Tnx,
Tom
