I'm currently evaluating several communication options for a new business I'm starting and VoIP looks like a very attractive service. I have some questions about this service which will hopefully be answered in this thread.

1. Do I need any special hardware to use your service or only my computer, a high speed connection and a headset?
2. Lets say I get a number in Mia, FL. If a customer calls to that number, can one of my employees in Lima, Peru answer that call? If the answer is yes, will it be considered call forwarding?

(This question is important because I think I have the "call forwarding" concept a little bit confused. From what I understand, forwarding will be if my number in Mia is 555-5555 and my number in Lima is 444-4444, if someone calls to the Mia number and they can't reach me, the system will dial 444-4444 and try to reach me there. However, my question is if someone in Lima can answer the 555-5555 number or not).

Hello,

We do provide hardware that will connect to your broadband modem, and you can use your standard analog or digital telephones with the device.

We also provide a free softphone, so you can also use the VoIP service through a computer with a headset.

Your second question depends on a few factors.

Is the Lima individual also using our VoIP service?

We have two types of forwarding services, Call Forwarding and Find Me Follow Me.

Call Forwarding immediately forwards to a specified number (Please note: You are not able to forward to international numbers), it never rings your VoIP Your Life number.

Find Me Follow Me can be used as a roll over feature. It will ring your VoIP Your Life phone number, then roll over to a domestic phone number if no one answers, or if the first line is busy.

I apologize if this wasn't a direct answer to your question, I wasn't too sure on what you were trying to accomplish.

I hope this helps give you an idea of how our service works, and I'd love to answer any follow up questions you may have.

Thanks,

Allen
