Having been a VYL customer for more than two years now, I would like to suggest two improvements. The Phone System at my office has recently been upgraded to a Cisco VOIP system and two features were quite stunning that I'd like to see being implemented at VYL as well:

1. My Voicemails are being sent to my e-mail inbox as wav-files attached to an e-mail that includes the sender's phone number and Caller ID (something that would come handy being part of your existing voicemail notification subject lines as well). By using compression such as mp3, the filesizes could be minimized.

2. Cisco offers a 'softphone' that mirrors my work phone with all its features. I can place and receive calls while being out of the office, on vacation, at home or on business trips. It makes use of audio devices such as a bluetooth headset connected to my laptop which allows me to work at my local coffee shop just like I was sitting in the office.

Hope this is something you are thinking about doing!

Hi Axel,

Thank you very much for your contribution and ideas to improving our service. We do appreciate any and all feedback we get from our customers.

I'm not entirely sure if it's just one particular thing we are missing compared to Cisco VoIP. Right now we do offer voicemail to email, in .wav format. It does not include a name with the email though, but it does have their phone number. We also do not have an option to use .mp3, but the reason we use .wav is for the best quality. Just to be upfront, I don't think we'll be able to change the format of the file, but the CallerID name is something I can recommend to our engineers.

We also allow our customers to use any kind of softphone with our service! One that we recommend that is free to download and use is X-lite. You can find the download and instructions here:
http://www.vylmedia.com/x-lite.php

And you will have the same functions and features as your phone at the house.

I hope these answers help you out, if you do have any additional questions or comments, or if I misunderstood, please let me know.

Thanks,

Allen

I am surprised on how much I missed out - both main features I've been looking for are already there! I'm just wondering whether I'm the only one that didn't know about them... I think you really need to promote those features more!

Why don't you dig out the voicemail-to-email attachment option from the sub-menu within the 'features' menu?
Also, I wasn't able to browse to the link to the softphone instructions through your homepage, this could very well be listed as an additional feature with the proper link featured right there!

Keep up the good work!!!
