Hello,

I am trying to use the SPA-2102 in Poland. We just got internet connect and the tech guy in Poland asked us for our comps MAC ID. Now do we have to register the VOIP router's MAC ID with the ISP? Or is there any way to clone the MAC ID of the PC for the SPA-2102 router?

Newbie question.

Thank you in Advance.

It sounds like your ISP is only going to allow one computer to use the Internet without charging you more money to do it. I hate when people make things complicated! :-) Our cable company here does the same thing, though they use the MAC address of the cable modem to control access to the network.

Since the SPA device is a router in its own right, you should be able to give them the MAC address of that unit and your computer will 'hide' behind it when accessing the Internet. We'd need to know how VoIPYourLife has the networking service field set up inside of the SPA, though -- if it's set to NAT, this will work. If it's set to Bridged, it won't.

Hope this helps!

Thank you. After adding the MAC address of the unit with the ISP, it's working now. Thank you!
