LOL :p. I guess you could say it's possible. You won't be able to use the hardware, but you could use it over the X-lite softphone and lower the bandwidth requirements. Doing so, the call quality is still very poor but hey it works!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks,

Allen

I am just curious here, but why would you need a dial up when you have a boradband to use this to begin with? Are you logging directly into a server/telnet or something?

I use it to remote into my router at work. I dial into my modem connected to my router in case the internet goes down at work I have a way (back door) in and reset things if needed. 9600 bps is what I connect at.

I had to go into my voip router and enable the second phone jack on it. I copied all the settings from line 1 over to line 2 then set the Codec to G711u then "use pref codec only: yes". All works good. If I need to use dialup / modem to modem connection or a Fax I just plug into that jack 2. (note you will have to contact support to give you access to your voip router if you feel you need to do the above)

I would like to find a voip software modem driver. It would allow me to vertiually have a modem and would send it directly over the internet to VOIPyourlife and not have to do the go from digital to analog and back to digital again to just get it over the internet. It seems we go forward and forget about the past at times.

Hope this helps!
