View Full Version : VYL provided SPA-2012 and noise

Hey all,

Every now and then there seems to be a buzzing noise coming in from my SPA-2102 provided by VoipYourLife. It comes and goes and I can't isolate the reason. I think it's in the device and not the phone or the line because (1) I've used the phone for a long time and it never had that problem and (2) I hear the noise even when the ethernet is disconnected, ie when only the power and the phone are plugged in. I've tried all the usual magic tricks, separating everything from each other to prevent noise coming in from power cords, doing a power cycle on all my network/internet gadgets, etc. The noise goes away for weeks at a time, then comes back, sometimes without me doing anything.

Has anyone else experienced buzzing noise from the SPA-2102?

When you login in to configure the seeting what did you use for the user name. I cant login into my SPA 2102. After that I can try and help you with the noise.

Fideli: You might try swapping out the phone cable. If you are hearing any kind of static on the line, that is an indication of an analog problem. Give that a try and let us know how it works out.

You should also try substituting in a different telephone to see if the problem goes away.

If we cannot clear the problem through normal means, call into customer service and we will swap out your box.

U/N: user
P/W: admin

The SPA2102 has a profile rule that will overight critical settings. If you would like to make some changes, give us a call into customer service. We can either make the changes to the settings on the server or assist you further with making changes to the device.
