There have been 3 phantom 911 calls to our local city Police department as a "call and hang up". The false 911 calls appear in the local 911 call center with our correct street address and with the phone number 256-883-6986. This is not and has never been our telephone number.
This has happened on 3 separate occasions this year: the Fourth of July, Nov. 7th at approximately 6PM and this morning Nov. 9th at 5AM. All three times the local police showed at our house because the number listed as calling 911, 256-883-6986, did not answer when the 911 call center tried to call back for verifycation. In all three instances, no one in our home dialed 911 any time - I am 100% positive of this.
So what's going on with these false 911 calls guys? VOIP You Life is our only 911 interface.
Four policemen at your door, shining lights in your windows at 5AM on Sunday morning because of a third false 911 call is not cool or very funny.
What is the problem and how can it be corrected?
