View Full Version : Number passed portability test before signup but not after ?

Hey Guys,
So, before I signed up for voipyourlife, I made sure to check the number portability for Toronto (ON, Canada) and I was told that my number was fine.

After I signed up, I tried to do the number transfer from my control panel/login and then I get told 'nope, not for your region/area at this time' - even though I have a 416 number already assigned to me by voipyourlife!!

Is there anything I can do about this, or should I jst cancel my account ? :(

Stephen,

PM me your primary number or username along with the number you're trying to port and I will double-check it for you. The online porting process may be limited to US only, but it does not mean we won't be able to port it. I am sorry for the confusion. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

I have been using Voipyourlife for some time now in Toronto. I have a 416 # previously assigned by another VoIP provider but it was ported to VYL some time ago. It took a bit of time to get done though. 416 is generally full now and 647 has been overlaid.
btw, VYL works just great. I take my adapter with me when I travel, plug it in to a modem/router and I have my home phone number with me to make/receive all calls.
